Una gran noche para Katy Perry en los premios MTV
Es Una Nota - La cantante estadounidense Katy Perry, con tres galardones, incluido el de mejor vídeo del año, hizo buenos los pronósticos y se convirtió en la gran vencedora de la 28 edición de los Video Music Awards, los premios del canal MTV dedicados a los mejores vídeos musicales del año.
Perry, que partía como favorita con nueve candidaturas, se llevó además las estatuillas a los mejores efectos especiales y a la mejor colaboración, ambos por E.T., junto a Kanye West, destacó la agencia EFE.
La británica Adele brilló también con tres galardones en las categorías de mejor edición, mejor dirección artística y mejor fotografía por el vídeo de su célebre canción, Rolling in the Deep.
Esas tres estatuillas se anunciaron antes del comienzo de la gala televisada, que se alargó por espacio de dos horas y media en el Teatro Nokia, de Los Ángeles (California).
Lady Gaga, que volvió a dar la nota impactante al aparecer vestida como un hombre (en el que hace un alter ego conocido como Jo Calderone), obtuvo dos premios: Mejor vídeo con mensaje y mejor vídeo femenino, ambos por Born This Way.
Beyoncé Knowles ganó una estatuilla a la mejor coreografía, por Run the World (Girls), mientras que Britney Spears, que fue homenajeada, se llevó el premio al mejor vídeo pop, por Till the World Ends.
Por su parte Justin Bieber consiguió el trofeo al mejor vídeo masculino, por U Smile, en tanto que Foo Fighters hicieron lo propio con el mejor vídeo de rock, por Walk.
Asimismo Nicki Minaj se llevó el galardón al mejor vídeo de hip-hop, por Super Bass, y Tyler The Creator fue nombrado mejor artista novel.
La buena nueva
La noticia de la noche fue sin duda el embarazo de Beyoncé. La artista dio la noticia cuando estaba siendo fotografiada justo antes de entrar al Teatro Nokia.
En ese instante, la artista de 29 años, miró a las cámaras, señaló su barriga y dijo que tenía una sorpresa. Su representante confirmó el embarazo instantes después al portal especializado JustJared.com. Se trata del primer hijo para la cantante y su esposo, el rapero Jay-Z. La pareja se casó en abril de 2008 tras un noviazgo de seis años.
La velada de premios y música tuvo dos momentos especiales con Britney Spears, quien recibió el premio Vanguardia, la presentación y entrega del mismo quedó en manos de Lady Gaga.
A Amy Winehouse, recientemente fallecida, se le rindió un sentido homenaje musical que fue presentado por el talentoso Tony Bennett.
